WHAT’S HAPPENING TODAY:

Kakadu Bird Week – Kakadu is a biodiversity hotspot and home to more than a third of Australia’s bird species. Reward yourself when joining Parks Australia and NT Birding Experts to celebrate the Top End’s diverse birdlife during Kakadu Bird Week 1-9 October, 2016.

There are special birding activities, events, products and prices on offer during Kakadu Bird Week.

Magela Water Levels are at currently 0.1m as of today. Recommended that all vehicles use care when crossing.

Cahills Crossing is at 0.3m high as of today and is OPEN to high clearance 4WD vehicles only.

Things to do in Kakadu;

Take a scenic flight and enjoy a rare opportunity to enjoy Jim Jim and Twin Falls in full flow during September.

Up for a challenge?  Why not take a hike on the 12 km Barrk Sandstone Walk in the Nourlangie Region.  Enjoy the gentle water pools and wildflowers on display as you walk across the escarpment.  Pick up the park note from Bowali for all the tips and sites to enjoy along the way.

Yurmikmik Walks and Motor Car Falls – take a walk through the Southern Hills and ridges to a tranquil waterhole 7 km return or enjoy the gentle cascades of Boulder Creek at an easy 1.5 km return.

And don’t forget School Holiday fun during Bird Week 1 – 9 October 2016, all welcome.
